Our Zeeland, MI based law firm is growing, and we are looking to add to our team! Each of our Legal Assistants serves an important and collaborative role within the firm.
The Legal Assistant is responsible for several duties including:
preparation and processing of court pleadings, document sorting, document assembly, printing/scanning/copying of documents, spreadsheet navigation, reviewing accounts for accuracy and completeness, and other miscellaneous legal tasks.
The Legal Assistant will frequently communicate and collaborate with other legal assistants, attorneys and county/court clerks and requires the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
This is a challenging, fast-paced, high volume, and hands-on role.
It is perfect for those that maintain a good work ethic, exhibit a high level of attention to detail, can follow developed processes and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance, and are passionate about learning and growing professionally.
Position Requirements:
High School Diploma Some office experience preferred Computer proficiency (MS Office - Word, Excel and Outlook) Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude Must have ability to multi-task and manage multiple processes Candidates with knowledge of Court e-filing, SCAO forms, Lexis, WestLaw, HotDocs, and billing software given preference
