Production Planning Reports To:
Production Planning Manager General Summary / Basic Function:
Utilizing MRP production schedule, monitor and adjust work schedule by machine center to optimize manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
Work closely with Manufacturing Supervisors, Leads, Purchasing, Receiving, Engineering, and fellow Planners to ensure accurate and timely processing of the manufacturing schedule.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
1.
Monitor production; identify and communicate issues to other Planners and Scheduler to determine if a revision to the schedule is required.
2.
Work closely with Supervisors and Leads to adjust production plans to optimize manufacturing capacity and efficiency.
3.
Maintain close interface with Purchasing to ensure that components are available in a timely manner by expedition or delaying, to maintain a consistent production flow.
4.
Process purchased part and material requisitions for Purchasing and Receiving.
5.
Review routings and BOM's recommending changes to Engineering as appropriate.
6.
Release work orders.
7.
Research and make necessary MRP changes to the Planner/Action Report.
8.
Monitor WIP inventories relative to RMP and make or recommend changes to meet balance inventory.
Skills Required:
1.
Ability to work and communicate well with others.
2.
MRP/ERP Systems proficiency.
3.
Spreadsheet and word processing experience.
4.
Ability to work well with limited supervision.
5.
Strong attention to detail skills.
Level of Education and/or
Experience:
High School diploma.
Experience in manufacturing environment helpful.
Associates degree in Business Administration or equivalent preferred APICS Certification preferred.
