Our Ruby on Rails and .NET applications manage critical operational processes and data that integrate with xTuple -- an innovative open source ERP system.
As a Software Developer you will be responsible for understanding internal customer needs and satisfying those needs with functional lean enterprise IT systems. These systems manage order entry, EDI, purchasing, inventory, production scheduling, manufacturing, shipping & receiving, billing, and more. An ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing and integrating enterprise applications in a manufacturing environment. They will be a problem solver who is internally driven to produce purposeful business solutions. They will also be a great team player who is able to work independently when needed and will drive projects to on-time completion.
Duties and Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and support software throughout the application lifecycle with a primary focus on our existing Rails/PostgreSQL applications - a secondary focus on xTuple ERP and .NET/SQL Server platforms is likely
Consult with users to analyze and understand needs and requirements
Design, develop and maintain database structures and reports
Respond to and resolve business user requests and production issues
Contribute actively toward development of departmental and corporate standards
Help promote and champion the use of agile software development tools and best practices
Prepare and maintain technical and end-user documentation
Assist with the administration of production servers and systems
Keep up-to-date with the latest relevant technologies
Perform additional responsibilities as needed

Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in
computer
science or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of experience in software development and systems
Highly proficient with:
Ruby on Rails
HTML, Javascript, CSS
Relational Databases/SQL (PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server)
Agile development practices and tools (TDD, user stories, estimation, etc.)
Proficient with
Large and/or complex relational data sets
Foundational IT technologies (Linux & Windows Operating Systems, Networking, Multi-tier Architecture, WWW, Mobile)
Preferred candidate has experience with:
ERP systems in a manufacturing environment
Visual Studio, C# .NET, ASP.NET
Microsoft Sharepoint
Business Intelligence concepts and tools (SiSense)
Mac OSX, VMware and/or Parallels
Strong Personal/Interpersonal Skills
Highly-organized with attention to detail
Excellent problem solving skills
Team player with ability to work independently
Customer service oriented with good communication skills
