Disher Design & Development is currently partnering with our customer in Grand Rapids, Michigan in their search for a full time, direct hire Business Development Professional in an Architectural and Engineering Firm. This newly created role is an exciting opportunity to work in an established A + E Firm that provides excellent opportunities for growth and professional development. We are looking for a highly motivated, Grand Rapids connected, teamwork oriented individual.
The responsibilities of this position will include:
Increase the level of visibility and name recognition of the firm throughout our target markets especially in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Assists individual Practice Leaders with creating strategic alliances to better position the firm for success in achieving targets.
Participate in the development of proposal strategy. In collaboration with Practice Leaders, identifies prospective clients goals and preferences for the selection of internal team members and consultants in order to devise the best approach for the pursuit.
Work with Principals in the establishment of specific short, near and long term activities and developing tracking, monitoring an assessment of business development activities.
Interact with the Principals to identify specific selling opportunities and maintenance marketing strategies.
Facilitates relationship-building activities and assists with the development of PAE staff to improve client relationship management skill sets
Assist in the pursuit, development and responses to RFPs, RFQs and other proposals.
Attend industry organization functions and events to promote the firm and establish and nurture networking relationships.
Skills and experience required:
BA or BS Degree in Communications, Business, Marketing, Architecture or related Bachelors degree.
At least 10+ years of Business Development experience preferably in the A/E/C industry.
The successful candidate will be clearly connected in the Greater Grand Rapids, MI area.
Market experience must include Higher Education, K 12, Healthcare/Hospital, or Corporate Interiors.
Proven experience building strategic relationships with prospects and clients.
Proven success in achieving sales goals and developing new business, including goal setting, meeting goals, forecasting, sales analysis, and getting results.
Able to submit activity and results reports.
Knowledge of architectural building systems, sustainability, integrated design and LEED guidelines.
Large project experience in the range of $5M to $500M.
Excellent command of MS Office Suite and Adobe; familiarity with digital imaging and graphics software.
Motivated self-starter with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Use of network building technology and other tools to target, identify and develop warm introductions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Excellent teamwork skills.
Strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial approach, capable of motivating others.
Experience in developing and maintaining a clear overview of business contacts.
This is a direct, full time, permanent position, and the salary will be commensurate with experience, including an excellent benefit package.
Must have current and continuing right to work in the United States of America without sponsorship.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
