Continuous Improvement Engineer

€ Serves as ZSP Plant leader for Continuous Improvement. Develops, aligns and implements Zeeland Continuous Improvement strategy
Provides direct management of ZSP CI Technician as well as matrix management for ZIPP CI Technician.
Applies structured problem solving analysis and statistical tools to provide risk compensated solutions to product, process, and package issues.
Leads development of site Root Cause Analysis ("RCA") and Corrective and Preventative Action ("CAPA") process. Facilitates RCA and CAPA process for key site events. Develops standardized event templates and trains others in process
Leads multiple, cross-functional project teams in the application of Continuous Improvement (Six Sigma, Lean, etc) methodology to deliver process improvements that result in measurable process improvements.
Continuously reviews overall site performance, with a focus on top loss areas. Partners with management, supervisors, operators and maintenance and technical staff to lead and facilitate process improvement projects.
Provides daily technical support to line managers and supervisors.
Documents and tracks all aspects of their project, including project charters, data displays, financial benefits / costs, process flows and implementation plans. Utilizes this documentation to foster best practice sharing across the organization
Provides training, coaching and mentoring to project teams on Continuous Improvement methodology.
Provides influencing technical assessments and communications to key stakeholders, management, and team members regarding both daily decision making and strategic direction.
Applies awareness of HACCP, GMP's and regulatory requirements to ongoing manufacturing processes, process design, process qualifications.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical, Package or Electrical) or other technical science preferred. Extensive, demonstrated Continuous Improvement experience to be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
Lean Sigma or other equivalent continuous improvement certification
3 years of demonstrated Continuous Improvement experience or equivalent technical experience or education. Demonstrated Continuous Improvement leadership within a complex manufacturing organization preferred. Previous package engineering experience a plus
Experience managing others in a matrix structure preferred
Demonstrated capability to teach, coach and lead others in the application of Continuous Improvement tools
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to drive change within a matrix organization.
Excellent communication, leadership and influencing skills. Models MJN Core Behaviors. Able to effectively communicate detailed information to multiple levels of organization from Sr. Management to line operators.
Demonstrates initiative, ownership and accountability
Knowledge of manufacturing, GMP & safety processes. Powder packaging line experience preferred
Experience within FDA regulated food or pharmaceutical environment preferred
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to deliver superior business outcomes while controlling project costs
Demonstrated ability to incorporate innovative concepts and technologies into viable manufacturing processes
Understanding of financial principles, budgeting process and resource allocation

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
