Production Manager

Plascore is seeking a technical professional to work closely with our engineering and manufacturing teams to supervise factory employees and production in the Machined Core Business Unit. The production manager will be involved in fabricating a variety of parts for the aerospace market.
This position offers many opportunities for innovation and product/process improvement as the production manager is involved in projects from the beginning during design review through final shipment. There is exposure to a variety of materials as products are constructed of various aluminum and composite honeycomb materials serving many aerospace programs.
The ideal candidate will have had exposure in a variety of areas, such as manufacturing, CNC-machining, forming, leadership and be eager to gain experience in these fields through the following activities:
Assisting with design modifications for machinability and manufacturability
Being involved in design and implementation
Optimizing use of equipment
Working with operators to validate parts meet customer requirements
Assisting in the design of jigs, tools, fixtures and special equipment
Assisting with design solutions to match equipment/material limitations with customer requirements
Assisting in engineering change process
Assisting in developing work instructions
Managing complex routings
Cycle counting critical inventory
Implementing Quality Management techniques
Minimizing Waste
Managerial Responsibilities:
Ensure all policies, procedures and processes meet Business Unit and Company objectives
Maintain a bias for action in developing and implementing improvement plans to increase manufacturing yield and reduce fabrication setup times
Maintaining a positive attitude and work environment
Providing training and cross training of operators in proper techniques and procedures
Leading by example in the areas of attitude, quality and safety
Facilitating daily production team meetings
Using visual management techniques
Reviewing and approving employee attendance/vacation
Implementing job rotation, enlargement and enrichment
Promoting employee empowerment and growth
Factory exposure will also include the following:
Aluminum and composite materials
Aluminum honeycomb and Aramid honeycomb
Variety of parts
5-Axis CNC machining
Chucking metallic and non-metallic honeycomb
Machining expanded and non-expanded honeycomb
Vacuum Bagging
Heat Forming
Roll Forming
Brake Forming
Hot Press laminating
Bonding joints and splices in honeycomb

Engineer-to-Order / Make-to-Order job shop environment
Strict adherence to ISO, AS and NADCAP standards
Working Conditions:
Position operates in a dedicated facility for this Business Unit
Business Unit is a cleanroom environment
Business Unit is a temperature and humidity controlled environment
Variety of work (balance of desk work and factory floor work)
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED, two year degree required
Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent preferred
5 years of related experience desired, but high levels of managerial skills are more important
Leadership seminars and/or coursework
Ability to manipulate CAD/CAM files or programming experience a plus
Ability to read and interpret technical mechanical drawings and GD&T
Proficiency in G and M code preferred
Outstanding organizational and time management skills
Excellent technical communication skills
Initiative for product/process improvement

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
