About this Opportunity
As a Financial Analyst - Senior Associate (Costing and Margin), you'll conduct finance-related activities in support of small-to-medium sized projects and functions or small-to-medium business units. You will prepare fundamental analyses and research to generate data for inclusion in financial forecasts and projections. Your assignments will typically provide exposure to fundamental financial concepts, issues, and activities.

Build an internal network of contacts and sources to collect and/or validate data. You'll also assist in communicating information as requested.
Conduct financial analysis through the application of fundamental Accounting/Finance principles, concepts, theories, and techniques on assignments that are specific in nature and require basic understanding and experience in the field.
Continuously increase your knowledge of the organization and personal business acumen through ongoing learning activities.
Function as Financial Analyst and business partner with your assigned client group/segment of the organization.
Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.
Prepare fundamental analyses and research to generate data for inclusion in financial forecasts and projections.
Use established procedures, work under direct supervision, and direct efforts toward clearly defined results.
Take responsibility for applying knowledge of Accounting principles, concepts, theories, and techniques in conducting activities to support the development, monitoring, and maintenance of ledger accounts and financial statements/reporting.
Take responsibility for month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close surrounding inventory, variances, and margin performance.
Work closely with auditors to ensure that information, support, and explanations are provided in a timely manner.
Support the SOX 404 documentation process.
Conduct the calculation, review, and analysis of LIFO inventory valuation.
Collaborate with Finance colleagues and internal/external Herman Miller contacts to collect and validate data. You'll also assist in communicating detailed information under general supervision.

You might be just who we're looking for if you have...
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
Two to four years of professional financial analysis experience.
A fundamental knowledge of and expertise in the finance area of specialty.
Analytical skills to identify and analyze problems and generate ideas and solutions.
A demonstrated ability to effectively use the office automation, communication, tools, and software currently being used in the Herman Miller office environment, including related financial programs and software.
A proven ability to accomplish desired objectives and outcomes by influencing individuals at all levels.
The ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
The ability to perform all essential job functions of the position with or without accommodations.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
